Frith, whose name means “peace” or “order” is the handmaiden in charge of integrating the systems of the body, finding out what is out of balance with what, and how to put it right. She is an excellent diagnostician, with an instinctive feel for what is “off”. She is a specialist around internal organs and can see their health or dysfunction immediately. While she acknowledges that not everything can be made perfectly balanced, she is ingenious at coming up with “counterbalances” for symptoms or health situations that are not going to change. While Hlifthrasa works with the acupuncture meridians to unblock chi, Frith works on them to balance each other.
(Nornoriel’s vision of Frith was as the tender of the fountain in Mengloth’s temple, and the water in the pool was the tears of all the world. Frith’s lesson for Nornoriel was that we are all, for better or for worse, in this together, we all suffer. The best thing to do is to be mindful of that; fostering a sense of compassion is important, especially if you have been called to the role of a healer. One cannot heal with hate in one’s heart.)
Frith’s color is light green and the world-energy that she works with is that of Vanaheim. Like the Green World, she is very concerned with food and nutrition, which feed the organs and keep systems in balance. She is a great believer that we may be born with imbalances, but diet and herbs are how we learn to compensate for our genetic deficiencies. Herbs to put into a magic charm pouch for Frith are any that help balance the organs – Roseroot, Avens, Nettles, Angelica, Borage, etc. Green stones like aventurine or serpentine or jade can be included as well.
If your internal organs are out of balance and misbehaving, light a candle to Frith and then go to the Offerings page and make an offering. Be warned that you may, afterward, be drawn to or repelled by certain foods; this is her way of helping you.
Prayer for Frith by Nornoriel
Peace you give us,
a peace of mind
in the knowledge
that all will somehow be well,
a peace in community
to unite on commonalities
rather than divide over differences.
Peace you give us,
a happy home,
a happy family,
good friends,
companionship of the Gods.
Hail Frith,
the Peaceful Warrior.
