I light this candle in honor of my grandparents and those who walked before them. I give thanks for their tenacity. They made one another, clothed one another, and fed one another in harsher times. My easy 21at century life exists because they loved and fought for their families. May I never waste a day of their gift to me.

I honor all of my family, blood and adopted, wherever they came from. I honor my pagan, monotheist, and atheist ancestors.
