Sinmara: Surt's Queen

Sinmora, or Sinmara, is the Queen of Muspellheim, the mother of the fire giants. Her name has been conjectured to mean many different things, from "cinders" to "pale night-mare". Some say that she is actually Surt in female form, and that if you meet them, only one will speak to you at a time because they are actually magically the same being. Others say that Surt split himself in two in order to birth the race of fire giants. Still others claim them as entirely separate beings, and Sinmora's origins are unknown.
Sinmora is a friend of Mengloth, healing goddess of Lyfjaberg Mountain; Mengloth keeps the magic fire-wand or fire-sword Laevateinn in a special "hot room" in her mountain fortress, in a box locked with nine locks. Mengloth keeps it as a favor to Sinmora, where it gives off healing heat to those who need it. She is a dancer, and dances the powers of fire. Few are called to work with her, and most of those are dancers or creative types.
