Charge to Odin
by Havareth
Hear Me.
My words are spoken with a tongue inscribed with Runes.
I made myself a sacrifice to myself,
Willingly gave my eye to what none other can see.
I am the Huntsman, the caller of the Wyld Hunt,
My hounds are warriors slain in battle.
My hunters are my fellow Gods and Goddesses
Whom I rule from my eight-legged steed Sleipnir.
I ride with Freya, queen of the Valkyries,
One who chooses from the lot of the dead, as do I,
Granting them service after death.
The worlds are mine to explore,
My ravens, Thought and Memory, watch for me.
Sleipnir carries me through the nine worlds,
Giving me access to all domains.
Those who travel with me are under my protection.
My son, Baldur, lights our way
And my son, Thor, protects the sword arm.
Those who seek harm against you must first pass me,
My mind is never faltering and my spear never misses.
I am Odin, All-Father,
Lord of the Gods of Asgard,
Keeper of the Runes,
General of the honored dead.
Do your work and know that I watch over you
Until you bid me depart.
