For Idunn
by Ian Brokaw
Idunn, the youthful goddess of the spring,
Who gives out rejuvenation,
And of whom your husband will always sing.
Protector of the fabled age-old cure,
The tree with the golden apples,
Whose aptitude has much allure.
You will hear the young doting women call,
Below you in your hallowed grounds,
All the way to Odin's fabled mead hall.
Send them your prized fruit of fertility,
To young lovers who dare in need,
If they show you signs of humility.
We hope that you will stay here with us long,
Because you can rejuvenate,
And you can make the life within us strong.
