Magical Charm: Guarding Your Death

Carefully pick and dry some Belladonna leaves. On the night of the dark moon, light a black and a white candle, and lay the leaves out on a small black cloth. Ask Belladonna to be your emissary to Hela. Ask that your death be guarded, so that you will die only when it is your time as appointed by the Ladies who cut your thread, and when Hela believes that you have learned everything you need to learn in this lifetime, and not before. In return, promise that you will not be stupid or reckless with this gift. There is no spoken charm for this; you must find your own words. Burn one of the leaves in the flame of the black candle, and one in the white; tie up the rest in the black cloth and bind it with three threads – black, white, and grey – and keep it in a safe place. When you die, it must go into your grave with you.
