Tyr, my joy, my commander! What a meaningful life has been mine, because you called me to walk with you, those five and fifty winters ago, when the timid, nerdy, un-athletic, stoop-shouldered, insecure, pimply teenager that I was then, stepped forward
Without hesitation one cold night to defend a friend against three bullies, and you, Judge of the Trial by Combat, gave me the victory. I didn't know who you were then, but I knew it was high magic. For decades you walked beside me, my friend and my invisible co-adventurer, and I called you the Spirit of Combat, and always enjoyed the awareness of your presence and your good counsel. When you finally introduced yourself to me in your personage form as Tyr, my ancestral deity, I can say that I joyfully swore fealty to you, but even beyond that, my love for you began to flow like a holy spring. You continually awe and amaze me, to this day, with your power and your loyalty and your principles - and your magic. I would not trade the experiences of knowing you for all the dragon's hords of treasure that have ever been! Or all the worldly power of the empires. May my aspiration to continually try to improve my character and conduct be the proof of my gratitude to you, peerless Tyr, great high god of old.
