Hail Skadi: A Song for the Huntress
by Jess Orlando
Through snow She walks, with otherworldly calm
Her eyes flash dark in the eye of the storm
Skaði, we hail on this winter dawn
Skaði, we hail on this winter dawn
Through ice and rain and sleet and wind,
She walks the path and hears wolves howling
No fear in Her heart, No doubt in Her soul
Hail Skaði, bright Hail, Hail Skaði, this morn
Over crunching snow, She’ll pass
Through dark pines and mountain lakes of glass,
Stalking Her prey, Her bow held aloft
Hail Skaði , great huntress, Hail and Praise.
As evening falls, and the stars shine bright
As the winds blow true and the bonfires light
Skaði, alone, sails along the snows
O’er hills and through valleys, night crisp and close
Full dark of midnight, Mani in the sky
Winds whip over wasteland, ice reaches high
Skaði, She sleeps, in her bed of warm down
Peaceful, She keeps, at home in Her realm.
Hail Skaði, Skaði, we hail
Hail Skaði, Skaði, we hail
Ahhh....
